It’s a little bit like magic…

…when an author visits a classroom curiosity and creativity flourish – students imagine themselves as writers as the world of making stories opens out in front of them.

I offer a small number of school visits and workshops each term, focusing on engaging one-off sessions that are carefully prepared and tailored to each group. This selective approach allows me to give each visit the time, care, and energy it deserves.

My core workshops explore story ideas, character and plot, language and world-building, and stories with heart, and can be adapted to suit different year levels and learning needs.

Please talk to me if you have something particular in mind as as I am happy to adapt or reimagine my workshops to suit your needs, or develop something in consultation with you.

Workshops:

Ideal for younger students but also suitable for upper primary (Y1-6)
Works for students developing more confidence as writers (Y2-6)
Builds on skills already blooming, Y4-6, but can be used with younger students. Can be adapted to secondary students, too.

Presentations:

Great for any year group – can be short and sweet with hands-on activities for K-2, or slightly longer and flexible for older groups

I hate talking about money, don’t you? but, yes, I do charge for sharing my experience and knowledge. Just to let you know, all my fees and charges are based on Australian Society of Authors recommended rates for school visits.
